yo' wendel, please forgive me for being so slow to respond. but let me
first say thanks for the great cd you gave me. and secondly, thanks for
mentioning me in the credits. i must tell you that "loss" caught me off
guard. i knew it would be good but it is excellent. without question i think it is your
best cd. your playing shines as it always does but the writing really
knocked me out. i feel like they are coming from some very deep and personal
places.
i really like the stomp piece and the one that has to do with savannah. i
listened to it the day after i got it so the titles escape me right now. i
do want you to know that i have always admired your passion and the excitement
you create when you play. but i am very proud of the progress "loss"
represents over the 18 years i've known. as herbie's song says "just keep on doin'
it.
